Stadium and Access
Stade Pierre de Coubertin
The World Championships will take place at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin close to the center of Paris. The capacity of the stadium is 3900 seats, for a Badminton setup.
The Stade Pierre de Coubertin is the soul of the Parisian sport landscape. All the athletes who have participated in a sporting event in this stadium are unanimous: the hall is welcoming, convivial and the interaction with the audience is immediate and very intense.

History of the Stadium
The Stadium was built for the International Expo of 1937 and entirely rebuilt after World War II when the stadium was bombed. It reached its peak in the 50's and the 60's when it hosted famous Boxing fights.
Every year, it hosts around a hundred sporting events : judo, karate, boxing, fencing, dancing, gymnastics, basket-ball, handball, and since 2007, badminton with the French Super Series. The main hall is part of a larger sports complex, containing 2 adjoining halls of 265 seats, a shooting range and a conference room.
The city of Paris entirely renovated the stadium in 1990 to reach international standards. The playing area has been enlarged, its full capacity (in a handball setup) is now 4016 seats. The changing rooms have been improved, a medical practice has been installed, a VIP lounge was created, as well as a fully equipped press tribune: all the welcoming conditions for the athletes, the spectators, the sponsors, the press... have been drastically improved.
A 1000 m² glass wall has been installed to allow the spectators to have a direct view on the main hall when they enter the Stadium.
